Not Enough Time
"A lifetime is not enough time," we sometimes say,
And we look back and long for another day.
Yet, in the vast scheme of things it seems,
A lifetime is the holder of all hopes and dreams.
Our lives we live out one day at a time,
Watching the rain fall and the sun shine,
Holding tight to promises yet to be fulfilled,
Hoping and dreaming of a better life still.
Yet, the end of this life we know is sure to come,
Even if we give this life our very best run,
"A lifetime is not enough time," we say,
As we look back and long for another day.
