When We All Get To Heaven
When I reach heaven one day I don't know exactly how it will be.
I have no idea really what the first thing is my eyes will see.
I've sung all the songs of pearly gates and streets of gold.
I've joined in on all the choruses of living forever and never growing old.
Some say those songs are just repeated words outdated from long ago.
Some say those words are just ceremoniously sung for a religious show.
It is true those words sometime come easily without much thought as to what they mean,
But I do know God's Word says heaven awaits me when on this earth I can no longer be seen.
I accepted Christ as Savior and followed after Him.
I have told others what He did for me He can also do for them.
I have read His word and tried to obey His commands.
I have placed my life into His very capable nail-scarred hands.
My loins I have tried to keep girt about with the truth revealed to me.
I know in heaven I will join angels singing holy, holy, holy, undeniably free.
A righteousness breastplate I have worn as I ran this race.
I know my Jesus went to prepare for me a very special place.
My feet with the gospel of peace have been shod.
I know in heaven I will see Jesus at the right hand of Father God.
A shield of faith I have kept before me quenching those darts of fire.
I know in heaven a very sure footing will replace earthly mud and mire.
My Jesus placed a helmet of salvation on this head of mine.
I know when I die my eternal existence is going to be just fine.
My God filled me with His Spirit and gave me power to live for Him while here.
I know in heaven there truly will be no more sadness, torment, or fear.
My God gave me His Word to direct my steps each day.
I know in heaven I will meet the Potter who carefully molded this clay.
My God's Word instructs me in the Spirit and with supplication to always pray.
I know when I reach heaven from my Jesus I will never stray.
The next time you sing, when we all get to heaven one glad morn,
Of flying away from burdens and sorrows we have treacherously borne,
Remember the words do speak a truth of promises and hope revealed.
We will be flying away. This life is temporary. Heaven is very real!
